Our Belief

We believe of one God who is the Creator of heaven and earth. A God who has revealed Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that God created us in His own image to know Him, love Him, live with Him and glorify Him.

We believe that everyone have rebelled against God (by living without reference to Him and by not being or doing what He requires in His law) and that the penalty for this is death.

We believe that no one is able to save themselves or even co-operate with God in efforts to earn their salvation.

The only Redeemer is the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, in whom God became man and bore the penalty for sin himself.

We believe that the whole Bible is the word of God in written form. The Bible's message provides tried and true answers for every modern problem and issue.

The Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin, comforts us, guides us, gives us spiritual gifts and desire to obey God; and he enables us to pray and to understand God's word.

We believe that the good news of Jesus is for all, and that it is God’s will that it goes throughout the world. We actively seek to share it with our neighbours, in our community, and to participate in its spread throughout the world. We do this because we believe God wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth of Jesus, for He is the only Saviour, and the Saviour of the world.

Presbyterian church

We believe that God has given to the congregations of His people elders to shepherd His people and direct their life together under His word. We also think that it is good for congregations to fellowship together on the basis of a common understanding of the faith. The common understanding of the faith shared by Presbyterian churches in Australia is the Westminster Confession of Faith read in the light of the Declaratory Statement to which all our elders and pastors must subscribe.
